RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURAL FRAMING CONSULTATION We are here to collaborate with Michigan architects, residential home designers, builders and remodelers by consulting on structural framing requirements. Our mission is to provide economical code compliant structural sizing information, often without the additional cost of a professional engineer's seal. We use software based on current construction codes. We can either do preliminary product selection and element locations or we can provide a complete packet of .pdf reports for headers, beams, columns, connections, etc. that can be integrated into the construction documents, submitted to your local building official, or presented to your clients. Of course, if you have more sophisticated engineering needs, we can handle those as well, with the the help of our consulting professional engineers.
PRESCRIPTIVE BRACED WALL DIAGRAMS/PORTAL FRAMES We are very well versed in the complexities of prescriptive wall bracing in MRC 2009. Our bracing diagrams provide all of the information necessary to fullfill requirements of section R106.1.1 as relates to wall bracing. TRAINING We are certified by the Michigan Bureau of Construction Codes as an Instructor under the provisions of Act 54. This allows us to provide continuing education credits to both Building Officials and Builders for their ongoing requirements. The program currently available is Wind Bracing and Portal Framing Requirements - Common Local Applications. The program is approved for 3 hours in the Technical catagory.
